Captaris Announces RightFax 9.0 New Open Database, Enhanced User Interfaces and Privacy Features Increase Performance, Scalability, Security and Ease of Use

RightFax 9.0 is a major release that extends market leading enterprise fax and e-document delivery capabilities with flexible enhancements that provide the performance, security and scalability needed by today's enterprise, while making it more intuitive and simple to deploy, use and manage. FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

RightFax 9.0 provides exciting new features and enhancements that address product enhancement requests from our domestic and international customers and partners while providing a flexible, scalable platform for next generation innovative fax server offerings. Product highlights include:

Open Database - takes advantage of Microsoft SQL server to support the scalability, reliability, performance and interoperability needs of enterprise customers

RightFax Web Access, a New .NET-based Web Client - provides updated intuitive .NET-based Web interface for the sending, receiving and managing of faxes to make it more robust and flexible for users as well as easier to deploy for administrators

Security and Privacy Enhancements - provides two-tiered administrative layers and restricts viewing of fax content by administrators, tracks users who view a fax, and disallows boards-level binary file transfers, unless opted.

Do Not FaxlDo Not Dial - checks outgoing faxes against a list of numbers to be blocked, blocks them, and provides alerting.

Active Directory Improvements - allows administrators to easily synchronize specific groups, organizational units and multiple domains.

IBM Lotus Notes Enhancements - increased support for Lotus Notes R6.5 including iNotes, Notes clustering, SMS, SecureDocs from Notes, simplified deployment and improved usability, security and reliability.

Short Messaging Service (SMS) Enhancements - enables RightFax users to create and send SMS messages from the various RightFax clients, including Outlook, Notes, FaxUtil, RightFax Web Access and the RightFax print drivers. In addition, inbound routing of SMS messages is new in RightFax 9.0 which supports our global customers by improving usability and offering more messaging options.

Fax Over IP - For organizations wishing to take advantage of fax over IP (FoIP), new support is available for T.38 via Brooktrout's TR1 034 intelligent fax boards, and board-less T.37 store and forward faxing. Eicon Fax Board Support - As of November 1,2004, RightFax 9.0 offers international organizations (non -U.S. markets only) the option to use select Eicon boards. These will be available through Captaris in the weeks following November 1, 2004. Further details about this exciting new offering will be forthcoming.
